I had a wonderful time in CO, beautiful setting and awesome weather! I always enjoy meeting new friends. This was my first sharpening class put on by myself and it was a great learning experience for everyone involved. People say you learn more teaching than just doing, and I would have to agree. Celebrating 15 Years!

June is here and my Wife and I will be celebrating our 15 year anniversary!

Sharpening Class in Colorado & Sharpness Challenge

Sharpening Class in Colorado

I am looking at putting on a sharpening class near Buena Vista, CO July 16-17. This is going to be a great opportunity for a small group of people who want to get away for a weekend! There is only going to be room for 8-10 people and some of those spots may already be filled. Stakeholders will have first priority to openings. This is just a tentative schedule, times and subjects may be changed if needed.

Saturday 16th

3:00-5:00pm Show up and get settled in.
5:00-6:00 Intro and hand out packets

ABS Bladesmithing Class Texarkana Arkansas

ABS Bladesmithing Class

I joined the ABS in March of last year, and I am currently working on getting certified as a Journeyman Bladesmith, and hopefully a Master Bladesmith someday. This last week has been packed with tons of information. I put together a short three min video of some of the highlights of this week. Jim Crowell is a Master Bladesmith and taught the first week of the class. He has been making knives for 36 years (almost my entire life :O ) and it shows. Six Years Ago My Knife Making Journey Began

Six years ago I was leaving my family and boarding a plane to fly across the USA for the first time to learn all that one can in a one week Intensive Bladesmithing Class. I was to make 3 knives in my first week, a neck knife, kitchen knife, and then design and make my first custom knife. And now I am getting ready to do it again this time not across the USA, just a few hours from home. But this time it will be a two week class.
