Knife making January 2016 (I need your help)

Happy New Year 2016 Happy New Year 2016

Happy New Year

Happy New Year, knife making has never been better! 😀 It is that time of year again when everyone is setting goals, the problem is people set goals because they feel they need to yet lack the determination to stick with them. Everyone one wants to change things but few want it bad enough!  So here it goes…. My goal for 2016 is to start updating my site on a regular basis. (I am going to shoot for a new post every Friday). And I am asking for your help… please. How?

Blade Show

2015 Blade Show

I have been wanting to attend the Blade Show for the last several years but up until now it hasn’t worked out. This is both exciting and sad at the same time.  Sad because I will be taking the place of my good friend and mentor Bill Davis.

Bill has been battling cancer for quite some time now, but like most older men I know they are tough! After losing my father in December, 2012 to cancer, it is hard to now watch Bill and his struggle with cancer. Bill suffered a stroke a little over a month ago but he didn’t let that slow him down unfortunately […]

BAM Blacksmith Association of Missouri 2015 Ozark Conference

Last weekend I had a great time at the 2015 BAM Ozark Conference. BAM (Blacksmith Association of Missouri) is dedicated to the preservation and advancement of the blacksmithing art and craft. I meet several other well known blade smiths there as well. The highlight of the weekend was watching Nathan Robertson from Jackpine Forge make all kinds of hammers and tooling on his 100+ pound Bradley Power Hammer. It was quite the impressive machine! Very quiet (overall except for the hammering part 😉 and smooth running.

Blacksmithing is one of those hobbies that the list of tools go on and on 😀 the good thing is, many blacksmiths make their own tools!

Production Underway

The Genesis Gen I

After months of getting a design together and lining up all the logistics of getting a production knife underway, we are just weeks away from the first run going out! This will be the first generation of the Genesis, there may be some changes to the design after some field testing and feedback. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the design once you have had some time to put it through the test. This is going to be a skeletonize knife, meaning it will not have a handle. You can use it like it is or wrap it in para-cord (there are many videos out there on para-cord wrapping and we may in […]
