MT Knives is Doubling Its Workforce

Work is really picking up around here! I have been wanting to get some help for quite some time. It is hard to find the right person for the job. However, after working last week with my new intern, I think the search is over, at least for the summer. I would like to introduce my new intern for the summer, Eli Hansen. Eli is a seventeen-year old home school student from southeastern Minnesota, and he is interested in a business career. MT Knives News March 2014

The last couple of weeks have been slammed packed with a variety of things…. From training, teaching, traveling and tidying up my shop. And working on some knives!

Training

I spent several days with another knife maker “Bill” who has over 40 years of experience, and some really nice tools 😉 I have learned a lot from Bill and He lives pretty close so I will be working with him a lot! I hope to do some traveling one day and continue to learn new techniques along the road. I love meeting other knife makers. Here is one of Bills Toys, I hope to have some more toys in the future!

MT Knives News October Update

Stakeholder Knife Work Continues!

Sorry, I have been so busy I haven’t posted anything on here in too long. I am almost ready to finish up the second batch of Stakeholder MT Knives which should get me to #035 a little over 1/3 the way done!!! It is my goal to be able to finish all 100 knives before the end of the year, and I have been working as many hours as I can. Long days and late nights hopefully I can speed up after I get my new knife grinder that should be arriving next week!

Restoration of Handle

These are two of my favorite knives.
If you don’t protect the handles they will loose their luster, so here is a knife I made before I started sealing the handles. Over time this is what the Ironwood will look like.
